Florida Library History ProjectThe Monsignor William Barry Memorial Library The Monsignor William Barry Memorial Library serves the Barry University students, faculty, and staff. It is the intent of the Library to provide access to the information needed to support and develop learning, teaching and research. In support of this mission, the Barry University Library integrates print and electronic resources, and provides a comprehensive program of service which allows broad access to information in all formats. It is the aim of Library to develop, monitor and evaluate services to match changing information needs in higher education; to enable the user to understand and utilize effectively the full range of information services; to foster the acquisition of skills necessary for independence in lifelong learning; to maintain and develop relationships with other library services and institutions within the state and county; and to facilitate cooperation and collaboration. The Monsignor William Barry Memorial Library staff is fully committed to all its dealings with patrons. The library includes more than 713,270 items, including 2,600 periodical titles, 5,000 audiovisual items, and 150 electronic databases. A significant strength is the excellent Catholic American collection. BLISSWeb (Barry Library Information Services System Web) is the computerized online catalog of the library's holdings. BLISSWeb can be searched from computers in the library, computer labs, residence halls, and offices across campus, as well as at home and off-campus sites. The Library is a member of: SEFLIN (South East Florida Library Information Network); Online Computer Library Center (OCLC), a national library network; and
