Santa Elena Mapping Methodology -Lauren Borst In order to properly map the Santa Elena area of t he Monteverde Zone of Costa Rica, there were a few steps involved in order to p rovide the most accurate preliminary map possible. The first step in developing the map involved sending students out into the community to record as much new development as poss ible that has occurred within the past ten years. After taking the inventory of new development that was collected from the students that did the preliminary development s urvey, I was responsible to take the information collected and enter it into Auto-CAD. Upon entering the collected data, it was necessary to go out into the community and chec k the locations of the houses, businesses and institutions in the area allocated t o me.
