D es i gn P roposa l 2 In desi n #2 we chose to make more arkin in exchan e for some g, pgg green space. The hedged green wedge makes for an excellent spot to sit and eat lunch or drink a cup of coffee (Proposal 2 Plan). In the middle of the park we plac ed a beach entry fountain (Proposal 2 Pers ective Peo le even with disabilities will be able to ass throu h p)p, pg it or sit and watch the refreshing spur ts of water from the center of the green space. The visual cues from the fountain will provide a greater sense of a town center.Behind the coffee sho p, an interactive coffee p lantation has been p, p proposed. This is a place where people can learn about the different species of coffee plant and how each one is cultivated.People will also be able to drink their coffee on the curvilinear seat, p r o vi ded in fr o n t o f t h e s h op Thi s vi e w fr o m t h e r oad p r o vi des a se n se podedototesopseoteoadpodesasese of community and serves as a spot to watch other people use the space (Proposal 2 Section). D es i gn P roposa l 3 Proposal 3 maintains the shape of the parking lot, creates additional kidhthtlftfthtW par ki ng, an d en h ances th e na t ura l f ea t ures o f th e proper t y. W e propose extending the berm and its plantings al ong CASEM to stop erosion, redirect drainage along property lines. To address drainage problems, CASEM needs reinforced gutters to allow for more gradual introduction to the a uifer rather than facilitatin erosion Rain Garden Detail qg () Greywater from both buildings can flow to a reed bed on the back corner of the lot. Plant materials and gravity gradually filter greywater for water quality control (Detail 1).In the back of the property, the coop erative can expand their demonstration fffdtillidi(SStiA A) o f co ff ee pro d uc ti on as we ll as prov id e a scen i c space (S ee S ec ti on A A) A scenic sidewalk lined with coffee pl ants will connect the coffee shop and patio area (see Outdoor Caf detail) Introducing a small stone wall between the patio area and delivery area will separate the two uses. Removin the land berm allows for widenin of the lane oin behind the g,gg g Coope building. For the existing open space, we plan to retain it as well as improve its aesthetic appeal. Low-level plantin gs mixed with a few trees lining sidewalks would give the open spac e more color and shade. Finally, removingbouldersandtreestumpsmaketheopenspaemoreatt Version 1 Pg 20 removing boulders and tree stumps makes the open space more attractive safe, and accessible.
