Imagine paragraphs for Spanish: Multiple Centers: Imagine walking to the library without having to br eathe in the exhaust of the 12:30pm bus from San Jose or arriving on time to th e Municipality for a meeting because parking was not a problem. Also, envision your fam ily outside of church after a Sunday mass gathering with all of your friends and family in a peaceful park distant from the fast-paced, tourist life of Santa Elena. Or, pictur e yourself, a tourist, arriving to Monteverde, getting dropped off at the new bus stat ion just below the downtown tourist hub and walking 3 minutes to the Welcoming Center a nd Museum plaza. These are some of the ideas embedded in this scenario... Town Center: Imagine a city that attracts tourists its unique, a uthentic atmosphere. In this city, community members can socialize after church while their children run and play all protected from the busy street. The entire downtown is affordable and convenient for its residents, and packed with fancy hotels and corpora te restaurants. Tourism is still booming in this area, but visitors come to learn ab out its history and enjoy the unique ecosystem, and not to destroy it.

Main Street: Imagine a tree lined street with wide sidewalks and benches for resting or watching the world go by. Imagine walking down Mai n Street with locally owned small businesses offering candies, home goods, and a bite to eat. Imagine being able to walk from the new shopping center to the new municipal b uilding near the high school in 15 minutes without having to worry about getting hit b y a car. Imagine a place with a downtown plaza that hosts Friday night music shows and Saturday farmer’s markets.
