Text identification: This leaf comes from Vincent of Beauvais' speculum historiale (mirror of history), which comprised part of the speculum maius (the great mirror). The historiale recounts the history of the world from the Fall of man in the Garden of Eden through Vincent's lifetime.
recto, verso: Text printed in black ink, one 3-line versal initial in red, two 3-line versal initials in blue. Foliation in red on head, paragraph marks and rubrication in red throughout.
