Born in Karachi, the capital of undivided Ind ia then moved to New Delhi, where she received most of her education. S he was then awarded two scholar ships the Fulbright Scholarship and the National Science Foundation Scholarship, and got the chance to study in the United States. Prior to her depart ure from India she was introduced to a scholar from Florida who helped her navigate the HEW 1 system and had her placed in Riverview High School in Sarasota. S he then a ttended classes at University of South Florida during the summer where she received her masters in Science Education. Describes her experience at Riverview High from 1964 1966. Describes the Universi ty of South Florida in the 1960 s. Describes her education at the University of South Florida. Alumni Association Life Member, contributor to the USF Scholarship Foundation, Distin guished Alumni Award winner. Recognized by the United Negro College Fund in 2002, member of the Community Leadership Council as well as several other accolades. Describes her career in the comm unity, especially with the Head S tart program. Describes her involvement with Bethune Cookman University. How growing up in India impacted her Describes her meeting with Mother Theresa. Mohinder Jain describes her education at USF in the 1960s and her involvement with the local community, particularly with the Head Start program. Jain served on the Florida Commission on Education in the 1990s, and on the Florida Commission on the Status of Women in the 2000s.
