Arabic text in the drawing translates to, "In the name of God the most compassionate and the most merciful. This is Bendabs village." On the back side of the drawing is Arabic text that translates to, "My name is Ahmad Dawood Abkar Abd-Arrahman. When I left Sudan I was 6. Now I live in a camp and I'm 9 years old. The camp is called Al-jabal, province Goz-beida. I'm in 4th grade in Agim boys' school."
This drawing was done by a 9 year old Darfuri boy. It depicts the village he lived in being attacked by the military using machine guns,tanks, and helicopters. Houses were torched and many people in his village were killed when tanks fired rounds at them.
