[Expelled from Bandus].
Refugee camp, Eastern Chad,
Pencil on graph paper.
On the back side of the drawing is Arabic text that translates to "My name is: Abdallah Yaacoub Muhammed. I lived in Bandus, and the rabs of Juba expelled us. At that time, I was 10 yrs old. Now I'm 13, and I live in Gaga camp. All we need from you now is to return us back to our houses. And thank you!"
Drawing of Janjaweed, an Arabized militia group, attacking a village in the Bandus area in Darfur. These militia shot villagers and sprayed their huts with bullets before Sudan's military helicopter came in to drop bombs on those villages. This incident happened when the child who drew this picture was 10 years old. At the time of drawing this picture, the 13 year old Darfuri boy who drew the pictures was living in a Refugee camp in Eastern Chad.
