Arabic text on the drawing translates to, "Date: May 23, 2007 A.C / correspondent to 1428 [Islamic lunar calendar]. In the name of God the compassionate and the merciful. My name is Mubarak Ahmad." Arabic text on the back of the drawing translates to, "My name: Mubarak Ahmad. The reason behind our migration to Chad is that the Janjaweed were killing my relatives unjustly."
Drawing that depicts a Janjaweed militia group attacking a village in Darfur. Houses are on fire after being bombed, and militia members are chasing and shooting villagers. There is a villager lying dead outside of homes that are burning down while others are trying to hide under trees.
