On the back of the physical drawing is Arabic text that translates to, "In the name of God the compassionate and the merciful. 04/27/2007. My name is Noor Sham Ibrahim Mohammed Noordine. I was 9, and now I'm 13 years old. From village of Bondos, Northern area, bloc (L), sector (3). I'm in the 4th grade, in (J) elementary school.
Drawing that depicts Sudan's military using a scorched earth policy in Darfur. Helicopters are seen bombing villages which then burst into flames. Some civilians trapped inside their homes and were burnt alive. Trucks mounted with heavy machine guns are also shooting at villagers, while those trying to flee are shot by soldiers and members of the Janjaweed militia.
