Arbab, Shareef Zakaria.
[Total destruction of a village in Darfur].
Refugee camp, Eastern Chad,
Wax crayons on drawing paper.
Arabic text on the back of the drawing translates to, "In the name of God the compassionate and the merciful. My name is Shareef Zakaria Arbab. I'm in the second grade, group# 3. My age in Sudan was 8. Now I'm 11 and living in camp Jebel."
Drawing that shows how Sudan's military and the Janjaweed militia bombed houses and set them on fire in Darfur. Also depicts how civilians trying to hide were shot and how a few villagers with guns tried to fight back but were easily overpowered.
