This collection consists primarily of original plans and architectural drawings of schools and other buildings designed or renovated by Iredell in the Tampa Bay region. The collection also includes some correspondence, building specifications, and other papers relating to his professional activities.

Biographical:
Leslie Newbold Iredell moved to Tampa in 1920 and began a long career as a local architect designing and renovating many buildings in the area. A native of Pennsylvania, Iredell received a degree in architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. He also studied extensively at Harvard, the Academy of Fine Arts in Chicago, and the Beaux Arts Institute of Design in New York. Iredell remained in Tampa until his death at age 81. He is buried in Myrtle Hill Memorial Park, Tampa, FL.
