This collection of scrapbooks contain newspaper clippings, photographs, newsletters, correspondence, awards, yearbooks, administrative documents, brochures and other printed material concerning the activities and accomplishments of the Seminole Business and Professional Women’s Club from 1953 to 1984. The collection also contains materials from the Florida Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc, The National Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, the Business and Professional Women’s Foundation, and from the Florida Business and Professional Women’s Education Foundation.

Biographical:
In 1953, the Business and Professional Women’s Club of Tampa sponsored the organization of a Seminole Heights chapter. Later that year, the new Seminole Heights Business and Professional Women’s Club received its official charter membership into the Florida Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc. The Seminole BPW was one of 2900 clubs belonging to the Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs throughout the United States. The objective of the Seminole organization was to elevate the standards of professional women, to promote their interests, to bring about a spirit of cooperation, and to extend new opportunities through education.
