Scope and Content:
The Evelyn C. Bash Collection consists of three boxes of photographs and news clippings. There are two boxes of photographs, including photos of Ms. Bash and others apparently collected during her career as a journalist. The third box contains articles by Ms. Bash that appeared in national business magazines between 1960 and 1983 relating to “business and people in Pinellas County”

Biographical:
Evelyn C. Bash (1914-2011) was a journalist, photographer, and author. For 23 years she was the Florida correspondent for Fairchild News Service of New York and contributed to publications like Women’s Wear Daily, Supermarket News, and the Daily News Record. Previously she worked in Atlanta as associate editor of the Southern Dairy Products Journal and was regional marketing editor for a number of national magazines, including U.S. Tobacco Journal. After retiring from journalism in 1991, she began writing books about Florida, including Cracker Town: a Collection of Florida Short Stories and A History of Crystal River.
