Scope and Content:
This collection consists primarily of photocopies of revised versions of Ms. Demarest's play The Empty House, with manuscript annotations/revisions. Accompanying the play revisions is a letter from Ms. Demarest to Nancy Cole dated March 27, 1981 and a letter from Nancy Cole to "Donna" relative to the disposition of the Demarest items, and a memo from "Charlyne" in the USF Theatre Department transmitting the Demarest materials to USF Special Collections. Also present in the collection are an illustrated brochure about a performance by Ms. Demarest of The Empty House, issued by the Department of Sacred Arts, Chicago, ca. 1934; a printed copy of Ms. Demarest's play My Son Jesus (St. Petersburg, Florida, 1979), and a brochure advertising dramatic readings of the play by Ms. Demarest (ca. 1980).
