The focus of this collection is on the personal papers of Margaret Louise Chapman, a special collections librarian, Florida Library Association President (1965 - 1966), Florida Historical Society Director (1960 - 1962) and author. Included in the collection are greeting cards received, event invitations, and personal correspondence to Margaret L. Chapman, as well as financial documents and writings. The collection contains Chapman's Master's Thesis, [i]The Administration of Governor Robert B. Glenn[/i], from 1956 for the University of North Carolina, personal and professional photographs, and printed materials from Chapman's time as Florida Library Association President.

Biographical:
Margaret L. Chapman (1916 - 1981) was a librarian at the University of Florida, Florida State University, and the first director of Special Collections at University of South Florida. An alumni of University of North Carolina, Chapman earned her Master's Degree in History in 1956. She served as President of the Florida Library Association from 1965 - 1966 and was the Director of the Florida Historical Society from 1960 - 1962. Chapman was born in New Bern, NC.
