The collection consists of the manuscript "Fruit In His Season," published by Crown in1953. The work also was published by Bannisdale in 1955 under the title A Wilderness to Conquer.

Biographical:
During the 1950s, Helen Corse Barney (1890-1982), a resident of Clearwater, Florida, published several works of fiction including Light in the Rigging, Green Rose of Furley, The White Dove, and Fruit in His Season (A Wilderness to Conquer). In 1949, she helped Dorothy Anne Ware locate Quakers in Pinellas County and organize the Clearwater Friends Meeting. She died in 1982.
