bioghist altrender Administrative History 545 Administrative History:
The von Pckler-Limburg lineage emerged from the Silesian line of Pckler, which is traced back to Grditz, Saxony. In 1655, Georg Pckler von Grditz was appointed as a Bohemian baron by Emperor Ferdinand III. The Saxon and Franconian lines of von Pckler merged in 1676 when Georg's eldest son, Karl Franz Freiherr Pckler von Groditz, married Anna Cordula Freiin von Kresser. Karl served as the Margrave of Brandenburg-Bavaria on the Privy Council and as the provisional governor of Neustadt an der Aisch. Upon his marriage, Karl was raised to master of Burgfarrnbach, Brunn, and Tanzenhaidt, and was raised to the rank of Imperial Count in 1690. After Karl's death, Count Christian of Ansbach acquired an enfeoffment for the lower and upper seats to the estate of Domprobstei Bamberg in 1709 and 1712, respectively.
Count Christian Wilhelm Karl married Caroline Christiane Grfin von Lwenstein-Wertheim in 1737 and subsequently inherited a share of Limpurg, a Swabian-Franconian imperial county. Their descendants formed the first condominium system while presiding as ruling counts. This line of imperial counts was subordinate to the emperor, but maintained seats and votes in the Reichstag and memberships to the Reichsgrafenkollegium [Imperial Count's Council]. Duties included the judging of local civil disputes and minor criminal cases, as well as providing protection and security for their subjects and serfs.extref linktype simple show embed actuate onrequest href http:www.stadtarchiv-fuerth.dedesktopdefault.aspxtabid-8851506_read-20246 super [1]
