The collection consists of Juergensen?s literary manuscripts, drawings, translations, newspaper clippings, notes, and publications. Original manuscripts included in the collection are: The Broken Jug (1977), Existential Canon and Other Poems (1965), Florida Montage (1966), From the Divide (1967-1968), Journey toward the Roots (1976), Points of Departure (undated), and The Record of a Green Planet (1982).

Biographical:
Born in Germany in 1919, Professor Hans Juergensen fled Nazi Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1934. He received a B.A. from Upsala College and a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University. From 1942-1945, Juergensen served in the U.S. Army and was wounded in Anzio. He was a professor of Humanities at the University of South Florida, and his poems have appeared in numerous publications, including The New York Times, Yale Literary Magazine, and American Judaism.
