Particularly prominent are World War II photographs, materials relating to aeronautics in Tampa, the "rum running" trade, and Jack Walton's numerous inventions.

Jack Walton was actively involved in the whisky bootlegging trade, and owned one of the "whisky ships" that flew between Tampa and the Bahamas.
