Caption on front of photograph reads: "7 May 1945. A group of inmates who were able to stand, pose with the Austrian Alps in the background. This large concentration camp had large numbers of its inmates starving to death and dying at the rate of 2000 per week. The camp was reputedly used for "scientific" experiments. It was recently liberated by 80th Division, 3rd U.S. Army troops near Ebensee, Austria."
