DOKEBTIC, NEWYORK, Oec, u.Leaf i s without material chango since our last re port. The demand i s moderate and steady, and prices for all the better descriptions are well maintained. Sales during the preceding ten days of this month amount to 1600 bhds., of which the greater portion was taken for export. About 250 hhds. were for home coa sumpt ion. The better grades brought full rates, but nondescript inclined rath e r in favor of ranging from 4Vc. a lOtc. gold for light leaf, and 7lc. a 12ic. for heavy. The specime n s of the new crop whi ch have already appeared in market are unusually fine, both in color, length width and handling. These indi cations, as well as the accounts which are coming in from dift'e;ent parts of the West, furnish good evide nce that the new crop will contain an unusually large propor tion of the finer qualities This would tend tO seriously depress the pri ces of the vast stocks of.nondescript now on hand, were it not for the gre!U;falling oft" in quantity, amounting, accord ing to the general estimate; to o ne or one half of the usual yield.
