The Board of Directors Mid Winter Meeting The Board of Directors Mid Winter Meeting is scheduled for February 28 th March 2 nd 2011. If you have any concerns that you would like brought up at the Board of Directors Meeting please contact your Regional Director Retail Committee Update Happy Early Winter to Everyone. The NCA Retail Committee wants to thank everyone that helped out with the 2010 Vendor Show! The Catalog Show went over very well and we were able to continue this tradition of the vendor show. Due to many companies tightening their belts during this re cession the catalog show allowed a few vendors to participate that would not have been able to if we had a regular vendor show. We had 31 vendors participate not including Markel and the Insurance agencies. Below are a list of those vendors with contact information. The Vendor Show helps keep costs down of the yearly NCA Convention and once again this year it did help. For the 2011 Convention hosted by Luray Caverns there will be a full fledge vendor show once again. The dates have not been comple tely set yet but we are looking at Sept. 18th, 2011. As always more details will be coming!! Just as a reminder on how the vendor show works. The Retail Committee asks the NCA membership for their favorite vendors. These vendors go on a list and a re invited to the NCA Vendor Show during the convention. The Vendor has to be on this list to be considered. If a vendor wants to be in the show and they are not on the list they are not allowed in. When this project was turned over to the Retail Commit tee we realized that only the vendors that caves felt comfortable with and received good service with were the ones we wanted at the vendor show. We didn't want any fly by night or "bad" vendors at the NCA show. We have kept to this rule and will continu e to do so. The list we have been using is now four years old. If one of the listed vendors has not showed or expressed interested they are going to be taken off the 150+ list. If you have any concerns or suggestions about the vendor show we are open t o your ideas. This is YOUR Vendor Show and we want to make it worth while for you to attend. The Vendor Show will always be based off what the hosting cave can provide and what they are comfortable with. The Retail Committee works hard with the hosting cave to make sure the show is the best that it can be! 2010 Vendors A.T. Storrs, Ltd.
