Abstract:
This ring site is located in the Congaree National Park in South Carolina. Congaree contains the largest intact expanse of old growth bottomland hardwood forest remaining in the southeastern United States. Aerial LiDAR survey combined with ground truth verification with GPS survey is allowing archaeologists and park managers to better understand and interpret these sites.
