This collection is comprised of manuscripts, personal letters and dust jackets related to Sainsbury's literary works. Included are typed manuscripts of early book drafts. Also included are correspondence and personal letters between Noel and family, business associates, and fans with a personal scrapbook of newspaper clippings that mention Noel. Also included are dust jackets for Sainsbury's published works.

Biographical:
Noel Everingham Sainsbury, Jr. was born in New York City on June 11, 1884. He received formal education in both Switzerland and the United States, finishing college in 1905. Sainsbury worked as an engineer before joining the US Navy and serving in World War 1. During the war he flew missions as one of the first generations of US combat pilots. Sainsbury took his experience with flight and used his technical knowledge as the basis for several children's book series based on flying and adventure, including the Bill Bolton, Dorothy Dixon, and Billy Smith flying adventure series. Sainsbury also is known for the Sorak jungle series and the Champion Sport stories series. Noel Sainsbury spent the last years of his life in Florida where he died in 1955.
