Abstract:
This figurine comes from the Block-Sterns (LE148) site, in eastern Leon County, Florida. The piece is curated with the Florida Bureau of Archaeological Resources in Tallahassee, Florida Division of Historical Resources. Scanning of this piece by USF (Collins and Doering, PrincipaI Investigators) was done with the Florida Park Service as part of work documenting collections at FBAR. 3D scanned with a triangulation instrument, this piece was processed using Geomagic Wrap and ZBrush, with color texture removed from model this model and shown in relation to color renders of the same piece. This Hopewellian-style figurine was excavated by Daniel Penton. The figure is wearing what appears to be a necklace and striped skirt, with lighter striping across upper torso of body. Galena paint (silvery-white) and red ochre are found on the piece used as pigment coloring.
