The framed prints in the collection are reproductions of illustrations from 20th and 21st century children's literature books. Two of the prints are signed by the artist. This collection was donated as a gift in honor of William Edwards Lee III.

Elizabeth Lee Barron studied at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating with her Master of Library and Information Science degree in 1988. Barron currently works as a Reference Librarian at the University of Tampa. Her responsibilities include the acquisition of educational materials for the library, as well as the topics of criminology and nursing.
