Origin Site: Chalcatzingo in Morelos Mexico. Period: Formative (approximately during the earlier Olmec florescence about 800 b.c. at Chalcatzingo (~2,816 years ago) - for more information on Olmec baby styles. These type of figures are highly sought after by collectors and are imperiled for that reason. Also, these figures are not well-known from in situ context, making this provenanced piece important.
