Palm Beach, FL 33416-4680 Re: Haynes Williams Grove Surface Water Application No. 901231-53 Okeechobee Coupty, S 5,6,7,&8/T 34 S/R34 E Dear Terrie: We revised and submitted our plan sheet to account for the 200' setback in grove block B-3, which was focused on in our discussions with Florida Audubon. However, in conversation with Scott Hedges of the Kissimmee Praire Sanctuary on Friday we noticed that a small portion of Block D-4N was within 200' of the Military Grade and hence would not meet the intent of the Board. Consequently, attached is a plan sheet showing the 200' setback from the Military Grade in D-4N, as the Board directed and agreed upon by Mr. Williams. For further clarification, we originally designed for a 200' setback from wetlands and marked the area between the lateral ditch and the Military Grade as "NO CITRUS THIS AREA" because it may have been to wet for citrus. At the Board meeting the term "BUFFER' became synonymous with "SETBACK", since the Board and the owner, or perhaps a future owner, may have different images of what is permissible to occupy the 200' area between the grove and Kissimmee Prairie Sanctuary. We request further staff comment on permissible activities in the setback area. It is Mr. Williams desire to utilize that area for improved pasture land for cattle grazing.
